What do you do in practices?
Coaches introduce and teach players the main baseball fundamentals: Proper throwing mechanics, proper stance and hitting fundamentals, basic fielding skills, above-the-waist catching, and base running.
We emphasize having fun together as a team, learning positive sportsmanship, and developing players’ confidence in their athletic abilities.
How do games work?
Rookie games are machine pitch and kid pitch.
Every player is in the batting order. Innings change after three outs or five runs scored
Fielders throw hit balls to the appropriate base, and legitimate fielding outs retire a runner/batter.
Games are four-to-five innings, which takes about 1 1/2 hours.
The rules are listed under "Coaches Information" on the NAA home page.
What do players need?
A baseball glove, water bottle, cleats are optional. The team shirt and hat are distributed at first practice. Players are welcome to bring their own baseball bat, batting gloves and helmet.
What about drop-offs?
At this age group, each player must have a parent/adult present for the duration of the practice and game.
