          We appreciate your volunteering to be a coach or an assistant coach in a Narberth Athletic Association athletic program. Our programs continue their success because of the people in the community who offer to give their time to the children of Narberth and Lower Merion.

  

           The NAA board has been advised that each volunteer in an NAA program should have a background check. Once the check is completed it will stand for three years. This is to ensure the safety of the children involved in our programs. You will receive the form from the league commissioner and below you will find the directions for completing the form.

NAA Volunteer Background Check Procedure

 

  1. After a person volunteers to coach or assistant coach in an NAA sponsored program, he or she must agree to have a criminal background check conducted by the Narberth Police.
  2. The league commissioner will e-mail the background check form to the volunteer.
  3. The volunteer will download, complete and sign the form. THE FORM MUST BE SIGNED.
  4. The volunteer will mail the form to: Mayor Tom Grady c/o PO Box 933; Narberth, PA 19072. In the bottom right hand corner of the envelope the volunteer will write. RE: coach info
  5. Mayor Grady will compile a data base of NAA volunteers as he collects the forms.
  6. Mayor Grady will then take the form to Officer Pavoni who will conduct the background check.
  7. Officer Pavoni will notify Mayor Grady as each volunteer is cleared.
  8. If a volunteer comes up positive, Officer Pavoni will call the individual and notify them. The individual will need to remove their name from volunteering for the NAA or agree to have their record opened and discussed with the NAA board and league commissioner to make a decision.

Print this form. Complete it and put it in an envelope and bring it to your draft. Give the sealed envelope to the commissioner and he will hand the sealed envelopes to Tom Grady, who will bring them to Art Pavoni.
